Are You Planning a Hen Party?

Planning a Hen Party for Your Girlfriend
A hen party is typically a naughty event filled with alcohol and dirty games to celebrate the end of the bride’s bachelorette days. It is usually organized by one of the bride’s closest friends or family members and only women are allowed at these parties. There are a few common mistakes that can be avoided while organizing this special milestone.
Hen Party Common Mistakes
- Failure to plan the Hen Party properly : If you’ve failed to plan in advance, the evening will be a disaster, period. There are a few prerequisites for such an event namely, venue, food, alcohol. So organizing all of this well in advance not only saves you the time but also saves you the stress of having to run around in the last minute scavenging for a good time.
- No In-Laws: No matter how loving or friendly the future in-laws are, it would not be a good idea to invite them. This is a night where the bride gets to go crazy and enjoy herself without any inhibitions and the presence of in-laws would of course put a dampener on that. And you don’t want the future mother-in-law or sister-in-law to judge the bride based on her antics on the night, do you?
- Don’t forget to run the guest list by the bride: It’s her party so the bride should get a say in who gets to come and who doesn’t. Especially while inviting her colleagues from the work place run the list by the bride so that you don’t accidently invite someone she doesn’t want to spend the evening with and end up ruining her night.

It is All About The Hen!
- Everything doesn’t have to be a surprise: It’s a good idea to ask the bride to be what it is that she’s looking forward to doing that night: is it a home party with Zumba DVDs or a wild night out in twon? This not only saves you time but also helps you plan your other activities keeping in mind what she wants. It would be a rude shock to the hen if she isn’t into having a male stripper walk into her home and that’s the big surprise that you have actually planned for her.
- Don’t forget to reconfirm the guest list: Prior to the party make sure you call up everyone on the guest list and reconfirm on their arrival. There are bound to be some last minute cancellations and you need to ensure that just in case there are additional guests at the last minute you have enough food and drinks and party favors to go around.
- What happens at the hen party stays at the hen party: To ensure this, you need to make sure that people switch off their phones and are not whipping out cameras to record every second of the event. There are some moments that the bride would not want recorded so avoid capturing such moments so that a stray video or a photograph does not create an issue between her and her fiancé.

Hen Party Details
- Avoid parties the day before D day at all cost: Having the last night of freedom the day before the D day is a bad idea. You don’t want the star of the day to look hung-over during the ceremony and even worse to dread her special day because of the way she feels. And in case you have travelled abroad for the hen party a delayed flight back will mean a struggle to get everything organized on time.
The Hen Party Mistakes Verdict
With a bit of research and common sense you can make a hen party a night to remember and cherish for the birde and all her friends.

Pole Dancer in Red
Pole Dancers are a Diverse Group of Women
From housewives to business women and from soccer moms to real life industry professionals, lately all females seem to be hitting the dance floor as pole dancers. Pole dancing dates back to the nineteen twenties and it is one of the fastest growing dance styles in the world, especially within the U.S.
Pole Dancers’ Reasons
Dancers who practice this art have different reasons for doing so. Mental relaxation and even obtaining a sense of meditation are just a couple of the reasons why women are taking up this dance fad. Many dancers state the art of dancing with a pole helps relieve stress because they are forced to concentrate on what they are doing and not anything else.

Everyday Pole Dancer
- Pole Dancers often have bruises caused by the rigorous regimen pole dancing has on the body.
Building muscle mass quickly and reducing belly fat are one of the first seen benefits. If intense physical exercise isn’t a good enough reason to embrace this style of dance, then surely selfconfidence is. Everyone is always concerned with obtaining a healthier body and better state of mind.
Performing tricks, or even just spinning, on the pole requires a lot of upper body strength. Many gyms and dance studios are incorporating pole dancing because of its body sculpting and transformation benefits. Also, when someone feels sexy their confidence level increases. Certainly there isn’t a more sultry exercise and art form than pole dancing.
Pole Dancing has a Special Meaning for Each Pole Dancer
In addition, women who participate in this type of dancing will find their metabolism increases, their balance becomes better and personal coordination is enhanced. Every dancer will surely embrace the ability to interpret the dance and music through their own feelings. This dance is personal to each woman as it can become a therapeutic way to express their feelings, troubles and triumphs through the use of music and body motion.
Pole dancers always have core moves to warm up with. Something as simple as a pole circle helps increase posture and flexibility. Elements of gymnastics, hip-hop and ballet are often used by both beginners and professional pole dancers. No matter what the reason is why a woman starts to pole dance, there are many benefits that will keep her inspired, interested and dedicated to the craft. If performed nude or clothed, for exercise or for dollar bills, this type of dancing is something every woman can be proud of and admired for.

Bachelorette Party Favors
Bachelorette Party Favors are a Staple of any Pre-Wedding Party
A bachelorette party is a time when women get together to celebrate a friend’s impending marriage. Some use this event as an excuse for debauchery. Others use it to help the bride with a rite of passage. Several supplies and props are utilized to make each event memorable. Party supply companies usually offer several party decor and bachelorette party favors, as well as themed supplies to match diverse tastes.
Bachelorette Party Favors and Cheeky Items can Help any Party Come Alive
Most bachelorette party favors can be found online at reasonable prices. Tableware and party ware, table covers, foil balloons, streamers, cake molds and drink glasses are offered in all shapes and even body molds. Creatively shaped scented candles, bridal shower banners featuring various love making positions and naughty games are always popular items.
- TIP: Bachelorette party favors can be purchased from a company or a home-made item for a more personal touch.
Some party planners go above and beyond when creating their event’s ambiance. Elaborate canopies, genital inspired cutlery, car decals and centerpieces that are of ill-taste are all prevalent, best-selling items. A lot of women are using “intimate books” to replace guest books. With the “intimate books” each guest must sign her name and provide one love making tip for the new bride.
Other clever items include invitations with a naughty treasure hunt map, a bachelorette tiara, flavored condoms, “Oath of Secrecy” forms, warning tape, leather whips and a variety of different vibrators- often with multiple attachments and settings. Dildos and vibrators are often used for parting gifts. Sometimes, dildos have been used in a game of bobbing for balls. It is up to the event’s host to be creative!
Bachelorette Party Favors are a Dime a Dozen
It can be challenging to find unique items in a sea of clichés. Celebrity blow up dolls are more for bachelor parties but women are becoming more and more adventurous. The Pam Anderson and Paris Hilton dolls are hot-selling items for any type of bride or groom celebration. Some strippers, who are hired specially to perform at a stag or hen party, sometimes use the celebrity blow up dolls as props. All these items, including a number of games and costumes, create the setting for decadent fun. A diverse collection of decorations, accessories and bachelorette party favors will guarantee guests a great experience.

Hen Party - Set the Mood
Traditionally in most cultures, a hen party is orchestrated by the friends of the bride- to- be. Sometimes, a family member may organize the event. Occasionally a bride may want to pay for, and organize, the event as a way to say thank you to her friends and family as she hits this milestone in her life.
There are numerous things a friend or family member can do to create a fun and over-the-top party.
A hen party is a fantastic way for a bride to spend her last night as a single woman!
A hen party should be fun for everyone involved, but especially for the bride-to-be. Even though a hen party is often a naughty event filled with booze and dirty games, the behavior is acceptable by many cultures. Just like a bachelor party, a bride-to-be party purely celebrates a woman’s last night of freedom!
- TIP: Hen Party is another term for a stag or bachelorette party.
Remember: The Hen Party is About the Bride
Since people have different personalities, pre-wedding parties can vary in taste. A lot of people tend to neglect the details of the event. The details are extremely important. This event is about the bride and her new life so take the time and show her how much thought went into it.

Hen Party Celebration
A hen party will almost always involve alcohol. A limousine or cab should be planned in advance to avoid safety issues. Choosing a catering firm, restaurant or even making the food for the night is as important as the liquor. Small parties are more affordable to host at neighbourhood restaurants with plans to visit a strip club afterwards. Larger parties require budgets which most people don’t have. Stick to making hors’ devours when a lot of people are planning on attending. If the event is scheduled to start a later hour, dinner can be skipped all together.
No matter what type of affair is being planned, always rely on instinct and the basics rules of party planning. Sent out timely invitations, provide some type of food and entertainment. Most of all make sure each guest walks away with a small token from the hen party!
Watching routines with seemingly impossible pole dancing moves can be daunting to the untrained eye. Many people are unfamiliar with the demands of this athletic sport. They don’t realise the hard work and training that goes behind the ease and seamless fluidity of the pole dancing moves performed by experienced pole dancers. Typically, students progress through various levels and even sub-levels that are carefully designed to build core strength, technique, flexibility and confidence.

Pole Dancing Moves-Splits
Beginner Pole Dancing Moves
- Beginner classes start with simple pole dancing moves, such as Carousel, Back Hook, Fireman, Front Hook, Jumps and Slides on the pole, Reverse Spins, Side Spins, Stationary Seating Positions on the pole, Ballerina, Chair and others.
Basic musicality and technique are usually the focus of the pole dancing classes at this level. Participants dance with bare feet.
Intermediate Pole Dancing Moves
- Intermediate pole dancing moves include various Handstands, Handstand Hooks and Handstand Splits. This is the stage where the real fun begins with some inverted figures such as Iguana, Inverted Holds and Inverted Crucifix.
This is the level where people usually get hooked on pole dancing for life! Not only the moves are challenging and inspiring but more importance is placed on choreography and linking actual dance moves to the tricks. High heels make their way in.

Inverted Pole Dancing Moves
Advanced Pole Dancing Moves
This category is for the real enthusiasts!
- Some of the impressive advanced pole dancing moves are the Bouncing Boomerang, the Handspring, the Handspring Split, the Butterfly Extension, Diva, Flag and the Inverted Back Hook.
At this level, students are discovering what is possible with the human body on the pole. The body at this level is usually muscle packed and super toned. The pole ingenuity is contagious to watch, to master and to perfect. Artistic choreography, high level of musicality and contortionist moves become the focus of students. Many decide to compete in amateur pole competitions or to perform. Pole dancing platform shoes become a way to accentuate and accessorize this dance.
Bare foot or wearing stilettos, just starting out or progressing through the levels, the fact is, this unique fitness discipline offers great physical benefits through challenging and creative pole dancing moves.

Dress Up Bachelorette Party Ideas
The stigma of attending, or throwing, a bachelorette party is gone. There are a lot of great bachelorette party ideas online and we, as women, need to embrace them! There is no rule stating good old fashioned female bonding can’t take place while a male stripper grinds away on your lap! These types of parties should be filled with naughty gifts, party favors of the worst taste, and lots of harmless nudity!
Embrace Your Bachelorette Party Ideas With Passion
Women have a lot of responsibility. Most of us are mothers, daughters, wives, sisters, mentors, cook, housecleaners….. the list goes on and on. That is why when an opportunity comes up to let loose at a party- we have no choice but to take it! Pre-wedding parties have evolved with the times. Some women are going to gentlemen’s clubs to watch pole dancers and get lap dances. No longer are there gender based rules for these types of events.
- TIP: Bachelorette party ideas should always be personal and creative. Don’t just buy a bridal veil with condoms hanging off of it and call it party. There was one event in the U.S. which involved a sex therapist coming to a party to teach the art of masturbation for couples. The guests left educated and found the rumor is they all were very satisfied the next morning.

Limo Bachelorette Party Ideas
There is a long history on how these parties started. Depending on what you believe, we all come to the same conclusion in the end. Parties for a bride-to-be can mean some serious girl bonding time accompanied by very naughty gifts.
Handling the groom may become a challenge for some brides and even guests. Husbands and husbands-to-be are usually all about having a bachelor party. On the flip side, they are usually against women attending, or throwing, a bachelorette party. One trick is to invite the men. This seems odd but a lot of gentlemen’s clubs are incorporating rooms for female and male entertainment. If the event is held at one of these establishments, avoid the drama and invite the men.

If you are planning a scavinger hunt game, for example, a good idea would be to buy a step by step guide, which will ensure your party game isn’t dull, lifeless or boring. Play some Zumba DVDs at home before going out to uplift the mood. If you have run out of ideas, you are not feeling creative or you don’t have a lot of time left to come up with the big idea… These guides can be fantastic and usually adaptable to any theme or style to suit your particular bachelorette party ideas.

From Pole Dancing Lessons to California Pole Dance Championship

Taking Pole Dancing Lessons
The first and most important part of learning the dance is knowing what you are getting yourself into. There will be battle wounds! Check with your doctor if you have any medical issues before starting a pole dancing routine, for whatever purposes.
Most online videos, gym classes dedicated to this dance and professionals will all have the same core steps when teaching a series on how to pole dance. First, grab the pole like you are grabbing someone’s hair. A tight grip is important for balance. Next, pay close attention to the instructor’s instructions.
- TIP: Pole Dancing Lessons are offered to a variety of age groups. Find a location, instructor and class you are comfortable with. Don’t settle for a location because it is nearby. Settle for a group you don’t mind showing off your sexuality too, even subtly, otherwise you won’t follow through.

Pole Dancing Showcase
Some dance classes have coined clever names. One pole dancing lessons group in Oregon call their classes “Flaunt Your Inner Stripper”, the class is designated for senior citizens working on coordination issues. Just like the dance itself, don’t judge a book by its cover. Seek out as much information online and through other women, especially professional dancers, before agreeing to any pole dancing lessons. Online videos are good but not as challenging as an in-person instruction. Pole Dancing actually requires good musicality and dance ability. Get some dance DVDs such as Zumba DVDs to complement your pole training.

Pole dancing classes are here to stay and inspire! Eleven women took part in the professional category of the 2011 US Pole Dancing Championship in New York City. This year was the 3rd competition organised by the US Pole Dancing Federation or USPDF. Their sassy motto is “The sleek. The strong. The sexy.”
6 years of Pole Dancing Classes
The winner, second year in a row is Natasha Wang, 35. She secured a prize of $5,000, and an all-expense paid visit to Australia to showcase her skills at Miss Pole Dance Australia 2012. Natasha, who lives in Los Angeles, works in public relations by day and didn’t start pole dancing classes until she was 29. The night’s second place winner, Gabrielle Valliere, is a registered nurse. She was the only competitor from New York and enjoyed a rush of encouragement from fans following her routine.
“It’s a nice partner to what I do in relation to health and wellness in my other life,” Valliere says. “When I first started pole dancing classes, I just wanted something different from what I had been doing when I was cheering for the NFL for a really long time. I found my niche in the pole dancing classes.”
Swan Lake vs Pole Dancing Classes
The prim theatre venue in New York City was fully sold out. Natasha’s winning number was inspired by the runaway success film, the Black Swan.
“When I saw the movie, obviously it really touched me,” confesses Wang, who does not have a professional dance background. “I’m very meticulous and almost driven to the point where I’m going mad to try to make everything perfect, so I could just relate to it.”
Check out the winner’s performance:
Wendy Traskos – the co-creator of the U.S. Pole Dancing Federation – argues that pole dancing classes are a way for women to express themselves and that ignorance is responsible for any negative associations with this sport.

Chinese Pole Dancing
Pole Dancing is Now Dominating our Timetable
When we opened our dance school four years ago, pole dancing was not even on the timetable. We were a traditional dance academy, which offered ballet, jazz, hip hop and Latin styles of dance. It was the girls, who kept asking us about pole dancing who prompted us in introducing the classes. Now on average we have about 40 classes per month and many hen parties. In fact pole dancing is currently so dominating our schedule that we are looking for more studio spaces that we can dedicate especially to this particular style of dance. This is what our current timetable looks like:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday – pole dancing all night
- Tuesday and Thursday – Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, African
It was Easy to Understand why Pole Dancing was so Popular
I figured this out as soon as I joined my first pole dancing course. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I was quite nervous. The environment was so welcoming and friendly, it was fantastic and all my doubts went away in the first 5 minutes. All the girls were so much fun, they had different body shapes and different age but what united us was the desire to have some fun. We did a series of exercises using the pole, some of them quite challenging, which I absolutely loved, then the instructor put a routine together and towards the end of the class she dimmed the lights as we performed the dance. We could dance as sexy, as technically or fitness like as we wanted, it was a personal preference but no one was judging the others, we just had a great time individually and together as a whole.

The Best Fitness Routine
In trying to do all the moves right I could not tell that I was actually working out pretty seriously. Until the next day… when all the aches and bruises reminded me that yes, this must be a valid form of exercise. It is not until weeks later as I move across the levels of difficulty I recognise the true merit of pole dancing as an athletic sport. All the girls in my group now have defined biceps, super toned legs and bottoms and strong tummies. We can do inversions and pretty cool figures on the pole. It is no surprise that as any sport there are rules and regulations covered by the Pole Dancing Federation.
I Feel like a Sensual Goddess
It is my hour to feel like a sensual Goddess, to let go of all my inhibitions, all the noise in my head. When the music starts nothing else exists, I own the stage, the world dissolves, I am free…and I am just pole dancing.

Poledancing is becoming an internationally recognised form of an athletic dance style. As such, it has rules and regulations as any other sport or dance style. It is judged on technique, creativity, agility and musicality.

Hen Night – Origins of the Concept
Looking at words meaning and origin in Middle English, hen meant the female of any bird. Therefore, a hen night or hen party is one which is exclusively female. It is believed that the hen night got its name from the very hen nature that it proliferates, pointing to the female vibrant and bubbly disposition. It gave rise to the idea that a hen night will be an event where the bride to be can have a blast among girlfriends and enjoy herself.
There are many opinions on the origins of the hen night
One of them takes us back to the Netherlands and the legend of a poor miller who asked to marry a beautiful girl but had nothing to offer as a dowry. Needless to say, the father of the beautiful girl was not impressed with the poor guy and didn’t give his permission for the wedding. The girlfriends of the heartbroken beauty then decided to go to her place with gifts and presents and make up the shortfall of what the father expected. This was enough for him to change his mind and to give his blessings. This is how some people believe the concept of the hen night began.
Another very different theory is that the expression “hen party” comes from the henna plant. The henna is part of wedding rituals in India, North Africa and the Middle East. In these rituals, henna tattoos are applied to the hands of the bride on the night before her wedding. The purpose of the custom is to protect the bride to be from bad luck and spirits.
There are different terms for a hen night around the globe
Irrespective of where the hen night started from, it is nowadays a commercial event enjoyed by girls all over the world. We have “bachelorette party” in the US, while “hen party” and “hen night” is more common in Australia as well as in UK and Ireland. In Canada, the term “stagette” is used, while South Africans call it “kitchen tea”. Businesses sell decorations and novelties for hen parties including things like “piñatas”, fur-lined handcuffs, “willy whistles” and adult toys. Others sell hen party kits with games and party gear. There are also many companies that specialise in bachelorette weekend packages, pampering services, pole dancing hen parties, male striptease, etc. Take full advantage of the variety in the marketplace to create an unforgettable and pleasurable hen night you and your friends will always remember.

Bachelorette Party
Who to invite?
Ask the bride for her list of definites, possibles and have to’s. Definites are her best friends and the souls of the company and your job is to make sure they are there for the bride to be. She will always remember the people who did not make it so you have to give your very best to ensure all of her favourite friends will share this special party with her. Possibles are the people who she will live without, people she has not seen for a while, “friends by circumstance” or unreliable friends. The have to’s are the category of in laws or other individuals she must invite for political or strategic reasons. Make sure you prepare and distribute bachelorette party invitations and follow up with all invited to ensure attendance and commitment!
