Pole Dancing
Pole Dancing is Now Dominating our Timetable
When we opened our dance school four years ago, pole dancing was not even on the timetable. We were a traditional dance academy, which offered ballet, jazz, hip hop and Latin styles of dance. It was the girls, who kept asking us about pole dancing who prompted us in introducing the classes. Now on average we have about 40 classes per month and many hen parties. In fact pole dancing is currently so dominating our schedule that we are looking for more studio spaces that we can dedicate especially to this particular style of dance. This is what our current timetable looks like:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday – pole dancing all night
- Tuesday and Thursday – Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, African
It was Easy to Understand why Pole Dancing was so Popular
I figured this out as soon as I joined my first pole dancing course. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I was quite nervous. The environment was so welcoming and friendly, it was fantastic and all my doubts went away in the first 5 minutes. All the girls were so much fun, they had different body shapes and different age but what united us was the desire to have some fun. We did a series of exercises using the pole, some of them quite challenging, which I absolutely loved, then the instructor put a routine together and towards the end of the class she dimmed the lights as we performed the dance. We could dance as sexy, as technically or fitness like as we wanted, it was a personal preference but no one was judging the others, we just had a great time individually and together as a whole.
The Best Fitness Routine
In trying to do all the moves right I could not tell that I was actually working out pretty seriously. Until the next day… when all the aches and bruises reminded me that yes, this must be a valid form of exercise. It is not until weeks later as I move across the levels of difficulty I recognise the true merit of pole dancing as an athletic sport. All the girls in my group now have defined biceps, super toned legs and bottoms and strong tummies. We can do inversions and pretty cool figures on the pole. It is no surprise that as any sport there are rules and regulations covered by the Pole Dancing Federation.
I Feel like a Sensual Goddess
It is my hour to feel like a sensual Goddess, to let go of all my inhibitions, all the noise in my head. When the music starts nothing else exists, I own the stage, the world dissolves, I am free…and I am just pole dancing.

Hi
Love to watch the pole dancing. Not sure about participating though. Stick to watching.
Sounds like a fun way to keep fit. For someone like me, I would have no chance in lifting my body weight. I think if I went with friends we would probably get the giggles and really enjoy ourselves while we exercised.
